ep 30 “off to college we go: those before us” with kelly cheshier and kathy little

On today’s episode, we are wrapping up our mini-series entitled “off to college we go”…from the perspective of those who have already walked this road. I am sitting down with two mothers, Kelly Cheshier and Kathy Little, who are very transparently sharing about what life looked like when they dropped their children off for college and how the Lord met them in those “darker nights of the soul.” They are also testifying to the beauty they beheld as they saw the Lord work in the life of their college student, as well as in the lives of their remaining children at home. In other words, we are discussing the faithfulness of God and how He nurtures our faith in every season of life.

·As you dropped your children off at college, what do you remember about those first days with them gone? ·There seems to be a whole range of emotions entering this season. How did you sort through all this?  Did you join in their excitement and push your “other feelings” to the side? How did you go about setting the pace of how often you called to check in and such?  Do you have any advice regarding setting loose conversation and connection patterns? How did the Lord meet you in this season, and what scriptures became a lifeline to you? What encouragement would you offer to parents getting ready to walk into this?

Bring your tissues, these women are sharing from the deeper parts of their hearts in a way that allows each of us to resonate. Thanks for joining us for today’s episode….I’m glad you’re here!
